Whether you're male or female, young or old, hot or don't think you're hot - chances are you'll "make the acquaintance" of one of the local hustlers. NO ONE's immune to it. Due to a combination of a bad economy, the promise of a better life with gifts & $$, & just human nature all over the world - be wary of hustlers that charm you (no matter how hot you are!). Chances are they're looking for $$ & if you don't give it to them worse might happen (hence no flashy jewels, hide the $$ in your room, etc.).

Gals & guys - if you choose to be with a Latin guy - ALWAYS USE A CONDOM - NO MATTER WHAT!!!! AIDS is very bad in Vallarta with BOTH guys & gals (& unfortunately it's spreading to the babies cause of guys going both ways unprotected & breeding) though it's only recently being dealt with & barely at that (most of it is undocumented & not talked about-that "don't ask/don't tell" thing). Gals - chances are REALLY good that if one of the local guys comes on to you in a gay disco he's a hustlers that go both ways. If he tells you "he's hardly been with many women" get real girlfriend!! WARNING!! Like - yehhhh - that's probably cause he normally goes with guys!! Vallarta is a tourist/vacation/transient town like MOST vacation towns - you're in one day & out the next! DON'T TAKE ANY CHANCES WITH YOUR LIFE just cause you're on vacation!!! Don't check your brain at the airport!!

There are MANY WONDERFUL locals that sincerely want to enjoy your company while you're VISITING (don't even dream/fantasize of it being more - it's soooooo rare!!). Because locals make soooo little $$ plus they always have friends visiting them I think it's VERY appropriate for you to pay for their meals, entertainment & their taxi's home. It's not buying anyone - just being realistic to their economy (having lived in San Francisco for 17 years & having LOTS of people visiting me constantly I KNOW what a financial burden it can get!!).
