	ANTHROPOLOGY (formerly known as "Por Que No") - What a transformation this place made over a year ago!! This is one of THE nicer gay-exclusive clubs décor wise!!! 3-levels: Top - a romantic candlelit Rooftop bar (great for sunset!). Middle Level - now a classy cocktail lounge (where you’ll find the “Dancer” shows!!) & a Pool Table. Bottom - an air-conditioned Basement Disco (low ceilings – watch out if you’re tall!!). A younger (18+ so don’t bother looking for anything less) National crowd & good balance of tourists!! Since you have more Nationals in the summer - Anthropology tends to be the most crowded bar then!! DIR Guests receive a coupon for a FREE DRINK HERE!!!
	APACHE •/ A tiny yet cool décor Martini bar with lots of ex-patriots hanging around. Get there REALLY early if you want one of the few tables outside as those ex-pats grab them first & OFTEN don’t leave till LATE/early!!! (they’re usually closed in the summer)
	BALCONES / Los Balcones Vallarta's oldest gay disco (I went there over 17 years ago!!). If you don't have to be a follower & go where the crowds/followers go, want good service & desire a REAL Mexico feel - THIS is where you want to be!!! SUMMER: CLOSED Mon. & Tues. 	Beach Bar & Cafe & Juice Bar"/GREEN CHAIRS (formerly known as Looney Tunes) /• Located at the GREEN CHAIRS beach (JUST south of the Blue Chairs) - Once quite the gay beach – it now seems to have a more European restaurant/bar feel & they seem to be trying to “encourage” a more mainstream/straight/mixed crowd.
	BIANCO LOUNGE & RESTAURANT •/ I’m CONSISTANTLY hearing that Bianco’s is THE NEW BEST restaurant & one of THE NICEST Lounges with a VERY N.Y.•Miami - mod/minimalist/hi-techi type of feel – LOTS of white on white on white with some of the BEST audio & video equipment in Vallarta!! Live Jazz many nights & I believe some hot dance music later on!!
	BLUE CHAIRS BEACH BAR I NEVER thought I'd see the day when I'd be promoting this place but "out with the old & in with the new" & they FINALLY have new owners!! WOW what a change!! They've gone in & cleaned out the mega riffraff & have guards on duty that' REALLY doing his job so don't EVEN think of bringing/doing drugs, minors.
	BLUE CHAIRS “BLUE SUNSET” ROOFTOP BAR This is now THE PLACE TO BE FOR SUNSET HAPPY HOUR! VERY lively with LOTS of activities like - Gay Bingo, drag shows & numerous special events & home to Blue Moon Restaurant (under the stars!! Open IN season). NO ONE under 18 allowed!!! Tues: Gay Bingo - 7pm. Fri: Karaoke - 6pm. Sat. & Sun. Drag Show - 7pm.
	Evolution (previously Cactus then Jabalu/JB’s Latin club) - BIG disco (holds over 1,000 people!) has a “Gay Night” - THURS. ONLY starting at 9pm with a “Foam Party & Wet Boxer Contest!!”
	FRIDA’S CANTINA /• A quiet inexpensive cantina with LOTS of ambience (dedicated & decorated with Mexican artist Frida Kahlo memorabilia. Brits say it has a British Pub sort of feel. Crowd seems to be mainly ex-patriots.
	GARBO’s JAZZ•PIANO•CHAMPAGNE•MARTINI LOUNGE (GARBO’s means “elegant or graceful & colloquially, people of class”) /• BY FAR - THE BEST & chicest lounge in Vallarta & MY FAVORITE!!! This is a place that welcomes ALL!!! This charming•cozy 60 seat lounge touts an art deco minimalist decor with class, LIVE MUSIC a few nights a week (mainly IN season): FABULOUS Champagne Cocktails & Martini specials of the Roaring ‘20s!! You definitely pay for such a nice place (that even has nice bathrooms!!) I LOVE the “Fantasia House Drink” (sparkling wine, Grand Marnier, brandy, sugar cubes & a dash of angostura) which was HUGE, gave me a STRONG buzz 1/4 of the way down - 85 pesos (Grand Marnier is imported). Paco said he felt like he was standing in a small club in The Village (NY) & that it was ABSOLUTELY GLAMOROUS!! PLEASE SUPPORT THEM!! Vallarta DESERVES more places with class but they can’t do that without you!!! PLEASE – give a BIG HUG to Javier & German!! 	KIT KAT BAR & RESTAURANT •/ A beautiful upscale lounge/restaurant with a New York-ish feel/attitude & a LARGE martini menu & Fri. & Sat.Dinner Drag Show. DIR Guests receive a coupon for a FREE DRINK with dinner here!!!
	LA BOLA at Vallarta Cora Hotel - The bar located at this gay male hotel can sometimes get a bit - shall we say "wild/risqué" IN the pool (use your OWN visualization here!)! Non-hotel guests are welcome between 3-10pm
	L'OPERA Movie House • Deli • Bar • Art Gallery & Misc. venue for MANY Special Events, Dances & Musical Events!! •/ Vallarta’s new “movie house” where you’ll find more unique/less typical movies & be entertained by local talent!! Tom says the owners also hold many special events including live music, cocktail parties, dance numbers & art showings!!! Sounds like more of a night time venue. A VERY UNIQUE place that welcomes ALL!!
	LIBERTE LOUNGE •/ (formerly Metamorphesis) - One of Vallarta NEWER entries into the genre of AMAZING new lounges/clubs/bars!! Garrick Seifrit & his attentive staff have created what sounds like a TRULY SPECTACULAR new concept in casual relaxation - a unique New York•London•Paris-ish type of lounge - ala post modern, contemporary, sleek decor for the person (of all ages) that wants something a bit more trendy, sophisticated, hip & chic. Cascading wall of water down a stainless steel wall, low furniture & long sofas to lounge (ever so "effectively!!") enhance this magical space!! You have a nice before & after dinner crowd! Dance to or enjoy jazz, techno - a more avanté garde sound delivered via one of the MOST sophisticated sound systems in Vallarta (digitalized music - mixed from a dj in NY)!!!
	LOS AMIGOS Another newer gay bar & it's been transformed to a VERY lively, colorful place with a great selection of music, a pleasant ambiance & various "theme" parties! The recent renovations have the bar opening onto a lovely terrace giving you a more open feeling! This sounds like a nice place for conversations with friends (new & old) & listening to music (you can even hear the wonderful singer next door at Paco's rooftop bar without having to pay their high cover charge!!)! 	The ORANGE CHAIRS – JUST south (& part of) the “Beach Bar & Café” (see above) - this area is now a more mixed mainstream & some gay crowd so PLEASE watch your words & detailed descriptions of the previous nights activities, etc. since there are some families around though they tend to be families that respect you so long as you show them respect!!
	The PALM /• Yolanda & Regina & Mark have created a venue with LIVE MUSIC & when there’s no live music – they have a great mix of music videos from jazz, light listening, pop, Latin & comedy+ & they have a nice mix of people that believe in treating each other with equal respect! They’re more the “Pre-hard-clubbin’ Club” – to start your evening off!! More gay gals here than the other clubs I believe though predominately gay guys, then mainstreamers. Pool Table. DIR Guests receive a coupon for a FREE DRINK!!!
	Paco’s Club THE Club Boy (ala heavy circuit party type) crowd. 1st Level-dj disco with 70's disco-ie feel (LOTS of mirrors). 2nd -Mexican Cantina with Pool Table. Top Rooftop bar/terrace has live entertainment in Season. MUCH more tourists. Cover charge is normally around 50-80 pesos & drinks are the most expensive I’ve found in Vallarta (MEGA make sure to check your change here!!!). They donate all the cover charges collected on Wed. nights to the AIDS organization - SIDA
	Paco’s Descanso del Sol ONCE the place to be for sunset happy hour (it’s now the Blue Chairs Rooftop Bar!!) – you get to walk up LOTS & LOTS & LOTS of stairs to get up here!!! Free tasty taco’s PLEASE – neighbors/families from hills above CAN see down so PLEASE act appropriately as well ask keep you clothes on (I’ve had NUMEROUS people complain!!). The pool is a SMALL “Dipping Pool” – NOT a Jacuzzi.
	The Ranch Nightly "dancers" (don’t be surprised to see lots of straight gals here as most “dancers” claim to be straight!!) - I hear they now have dancing here!!!! They have a Pool Table upstairs. This property connects with Club Paco though you now HAVE to pay separately for each club.
	SANTA BARBARA LOUNGE•CANTINA•DINNER THEATRE & RESTAURANT •/ (Formerly Rosie's Santa Barbara) also features Dinner Theatre in season!!!
