General Description:
The area with the most gay friendly happenins' - SouthSide, Old Town, Muertos Beach, Playa del Sol, South of Rio Cuale & the latest - "Zona Romantica" (all the same area - it's Mexico!).
Also popular, more beautiful yet close (only a $2-$4 taxi ride) & quieter - Conchas Chinas (the "Beverly Hills of Vallarta), further south down the Gold Coast & Garza-more in the rainforest jungle & Gringo Gulch/ Downtown (the historical/neighborhood area).
Mainstream Tourist Hotels WON'T allow you to bring guests back - even "just friends" (not very "Adult-Friendly." Don't assume this won't be an issue if you're a couple as it's more typical than not that you will make new friends & want to invite them over to watch the magnificent sunsets off their balcony) + they're 15-45 minutes away from the gay area so you'll be adding $5-$10+ each way [probably 4 times day] to your expenses).
Some hotels are out-&-out anti-gay! Playa Los Arcos has an ANTI-GAY policy as of about 2 years ago ("1 bed is for male/female couples ONLY" [after making LOTS of $ off the community in the past, and they won't let you bring back guests to your room.
Most of our properties are in the heart of the action which means like most
downtowny area - they're not the quietest. The quietest we have in the Old Town/SouthSide area would be Floors 1-3 at G1-Boana Torre Malibu as they're built into the hillside so they're quieter. If you're seeking quiet - you might want to do what I do when I'm needing R&R - renting a villa or condo further south of the heart of the action - away from it all yet still close enough!
For those physically challenged - Vallarta is NOT a place conducive to those with physically challenged as you have cobblestone streets, HIGH curbs & OFTEN holes or cracks in the streets or sidewalks (I can't tell you how MANY times I've sprained my ankles in Vallarta!!). Your best bet are going to be staying in the beachfront condos which have either just a couple/few steps &/or a ramp & an elevator. As for the gay properties - G1-Boana Torre Malibu has an elevator & only 2 steps from its main entrance which is off the main road (down a cobblestone alley though taxi's will drive you down there. The back entrance which is closest to the beach has 43 steps), G5-the Blue Chairs has an elevator (it's down a cobblestone street also though you're RIGHT THERE at the gay beach!). G6-Casa Fantasia's Master Suite is on the 1st floor.
Please remember you ARE in Mexico so you may get woken by an ocassional rooster, donkey or dog! You MUST reserve well in advance for holidays/Peak season as many are booked 6-12+ months!
Rates:
RATES published are Peak/high Season (in most cases Nov. 1 to April 30)/Value/low Season (May 1-Oct. 31) ie: $100/$85. (many properties will be adding a "Shoulder Season rate for May & Nov. 1-Dec. 17, 99).
Rates are PER ROOM for 1 or 2 people. Additional guests - an extra fee. Unless indicated maid service is 5-6 days a week for light touchups & bedding/towels are change weekly (unless you request more frequently & tip for the extra service).
You MUST reserve well in advance for holidays/Peak season as many are booked 6-12+ months!

Vallarta's largest "Straight-Friendly" (more gay than straight but all welcome), 10 floors (giving you some of the BEST views in the area!!), 40 units, elevator, basic (some privately owned units are VERY nice with LOTS of ammenities), modern condo/hotel with the largest pool! Each 1 bedroom unit has a Double or King bed in bedroom PLUS a REAL Double bed a livingroom, 1-2 bathrooms (perfect for 2 buds traveling together wanting privacy without paying the higher price!). Cable tv+ 5th floor & up! Some units have microwave, stereos, vcr ++!! The Owners Penthouse is the largest & has the BEST view in Old Town/SS!!! There is one 2-bedroom unit! GREAT for a group! Attentative Staff!!! DIR is the US Reservation line for this property! DIR has THE LOWEST RATES here (cheaper than the owners!)!!!

Once the nicest gay B&B in Vallarta, Casa Palapa has been sold to a straight couple with a straight couple managing it. It is NO LONGER A GAY PROPERTY or straight-friendly & we do NOT work with this property.

(204.75)In its original owners' hey-dey, this eclectic European-Style decor, more upscale, "Mexiterranean" beachfront villa B&B ON Conchas Chinas Beach was a favorite of the Hollywood & designer crowd & was used in "Revenge" with Kevin Costner & Anthony Quinn, as well as for many fashion shoots. G3 offers you 7 very unique suites, each cluttered with antiques, interesting junque, curios & original art. DIR has THE LOWEST RATES here (cheaper than the owners!) 'til December 15th!!!

Efficiency, Studio or 1-Bedroom units surrounded by tropical vegetation with 1-2 beds (some with additiona Futon), Bathroom, small basic kitchenette area (in most) with a small fridge, coffee maker & microwave, hot plate or toaster oven. Depending on which unit you are in, there can be many stairs. No pool.
